Is There Life Outside the Dance World?

People sometimes ask me if I do other things besides music and dance.   The answer is YES -- Environmental Education.

Over the years, I've been involved in residential environmental programs (like camp, with learning objectives!), zoo education, and watershed management. If you want to know why otters are more closely related to tigers than to trout, or how to put in a raingarden, or the top ten best songs to inspire kids to save the earth, you've come to the right place.

I am also an active member, former Board Member, and a Past President of Environmental Eductors of North Carolina (EENC), and I serve on the board of the Environmental Quality Institute. You can find out all about these great organizations at their respective websites. I also serve on the Board of the Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS), the national non-profit that supports the participatory arts in oh so many ways.

Currently, I split my time substitute teaching, consulting on Environmental Education projects, and advocating for my new passion for saving the world: Ranked Choice Voting. Ask me about it!

I also enjoy hiking, paddling, cycling, and other outdoor pursuits, occassional cooking, and I'm a closet fiddler (ok, I guess that's back to music and dance).
